dell laptop XP reinstall question

I have a dell laptop and i want to re-install xp on it using the xp reinstall CD. the laptop currently has XP-Home. unfortunately only re-install CD i have is XP-pro (also from dell), will i be able to install that? the key thats on the back of the lappy is for xp-home and the re-install cd wont ask for a key as long as i install it on a dell machine. what are my options?
