Dell Laptop with 3Com Modem Issues

I have a Dell Latitude CPi 366 with a 3com-Megahertz 3CXM356 modem card (and also a 3com Ethernet). While surfing the net, when I click to go to another page or site, nothing will happen for about 90 seconds. I'll try it again, hit refresh yadayada etc, and it'll finally come up on its own. On the little green computer screen in the taks bar area, it doesn't show any data being sent nor received. This happens about every 5-10 minutes. I have this problem on my desktop, but only once and a while.

I've got the latest drivers, my settings are set according to my ISP, and it even happens on obscure sites, so it's not like the systems are clogged.

Any ideas, clues, suggestions? Thanks.

hmmm........... doesn't sound like it is your computer's fault. can you plug in another computer and make sure is doesn't happen to that computer?

if it does , then it is your isp servers/routers. (my t1 does this sometimes, and we cannot do anything about it because it my isp fault)

does this happen to all your webpages (sounds so)

have you tried reinstalling your networking and nic drivers? like deleting them and reinstalling them?

is your system bloated (hardrive almost full?)
virus?

there could be a million different causes.
message me if these doesn't work
