I am looking into getting a laptop in the next few weeks and I am of course trying to get the most bang for the buck. I really like the Dell laptops, especially the GeForce video cards - I do like to play quake sometimes ;) Anyway I see that Dell offers a 16 and 32 MB verson of these cards. Does the extra 16 MB make a big difference in performance? Is this video memory upgradable?

Thanks

I dont know the technical details but you cant really go wrong with having more video memory. As far as I know, video memory on the Dells isnt upgradable, it would probably be expensive anyway.

In the UK the upgrade to 32MB costs £40 so I would go for it. All it means is that if the game uses large textures you will gain a few more FPS.

Not that this is widespread yet though I am sure you can overclock hat Geforce2GO. I know it's a heat issue in laptops though it's worth playing with if you are serious about getting the most performance out of it you can. Personally I would play Need for Speed 5 Porche 2000 on it, :)

From what PC-Gamer has said, the card kicks serious ass. I'm hoping to get one near the end of september but it might not pull through.
