Dell Laptop screen won't display unless...

The only way i can get an image on my laptop screen (and even then i don't see the POST) is if i can hook an external monitor to the laptop and then set the laptop screen as a secondary device...

So i know the screen works, but I can't access the BIOS to fix it. I feel like i need to reset the CMOS but have no idea where it is on a D800.

that's interesting.. i don't know what to say.. maybe the cable is just loose?
i was working on a laptop today.. and nothing shows up on the screen until the windows login.. its kinda scary.. what if something goes wrong, i can't see bios? it just made no sense to me..

as far as finding the bios battery.. you might have to take it apart a bit.. i have taken apart some d610s in the past.. but don't remember where the bios batteries were since i wasn't looking for them.. google, or google image serach should help you..
