I have a Dell Latitude CPI D300XT that can take 256MB of ram (or more maybe someone on here knows?)

More importantly though is that the memmory it takes is SODIMM EDO 60ns ram, but can I use SODIMM PC100 8ns ram instead? The difference in proce is $90 so I'm definately looking for something much cheaper.

How on earth would that help me, crucial was my first step and as you can see they do not tell me if I can interchange the ram between edo sodimm and the sodimm's they carry rated at 100mhz. Clearly one is EDO while the other is labeled simply as sdram 100Mhz but I don't know whether or not using this ram would affect my system, which is why I posted on here.

So again how does your response help me?

Also, had you checked crucial the highest they go with their ram is 64mb on the edo, while other places do carry the 128mb sticks, they are way ov erpriced.

Unfortunately, the CPi300XT can only use EDO ram.
Two 128mb EDO modules is max.

You are stuck with what you have or paying enormously high price,
due to that Supply and Demand thingy....

It helps you since you can input what your system is and it tells who what ram you can put in it. If it does not show it, it will not work.

Thank you, I'll have to find a cheaper source, maybe I'll try some swap meets or computer fairs.

No it doesn't because I didn't ask what type of ram fits my system, I asked a very specific question about the differences between one type of ram, and another. You were unhelpful, please refer to LiLithTecH 3 posts ^^^ on how someone answers a question in a helpful manner.
