Dell laptop flaw coverup?

http://www.bit-tech.net/news/hardware/2009/12/03/dell-accused-of-flaw-coverup/1

I have one of the affected laptops (E6400) and it's really annoying. The computer idles at around 65C even with lowered clockspeed and voltage. As soon as it switches to higher performance mode it immediately throttles and the goes back to low performance mode. Just playing flash videos does this and after a while the comuter becomes completely unusable as CPU usage is pegged at 100% (since it's in the low power mode).

Then report your problem to Dell. If they get enough compaints about it it may force them to do a recall which means you could get a replacement.

I can't speak for Lattitudes, but I know that my girlfriend's sister has a ~1 year old Inspiron that can almost burn my hands on the bottom. It seems to do roughly the same thing: keep running until it's WAY too hot, then throttle to almost nothing.
