Dell laptop doesn't recognize it's battery

My daughter's Dell Inspiron 1501 has an annoying issue... at boot it throws a screen up that says it doesn't recognize the battery and won't be able to charge it. I hit any key and it starts into XP and everything is fine, including being able to charge it.

It's the original Dell battery, and it holds a charge just fine, so it's not dead or anything... what gives?
 
Wellllll..... shoot! That did it. I didn't realize how many BIOS revisions there had been... Maybe it will actually run better. 🙂
