dell laptop cpu upgrade

I want to upgrade from a celeron 1.4 ghz on my inspiron 6000 laptop. Can someone on this site tell me what my options are for this as far as cpu's are. This will be the first time I've tried this on a laptop. The manaul doesn't give directions for this but does show how to remove the keyboard. I think the processor is under it. Any help would be appreciated.

Do NOT upgrade your processor in your laptop. Laptops are designed to dissapate a certain amount of heat via onboard fans, installing a faster (hotter) processor will cause increased heat and damage sensitive system components. Additionally, some CPU's cannot be removed from the motherboard as they are physically attached.

Although the heat problems are correct I would find out what model of laptop you have then research on what it can be upgraded to. Dell's website is good at this. However being a 1.4 celeron, I would judge you can only go "better" using a P3 1.4ghz which would be a minimal advance at this stage.
