The dell laptop I have has built in wifi, but doesnt seem to work.

History was that it worked , I guess, out of the box, but the computer kept coming up with a bubble message saying no network found. It was annoying, I couldn?t take it any longer, and I did something to disable it. I don?t know what though, it was 2 years ago. I thought I disabled a service.

Now I try to connect, and it gives me an error to start something. So I go to services, and see what it tells me to start, and I start it. I then try to connect and I get another error message that says I need to use Dells program. I go to use Dells program, and it tells me I need to disable the thing I enabled. After that, the Dell thing doesn?t work again, it says two programs cant work. Kind of a loop.

I am going from memory here, and I know there is not allot of detail. I will repost with more accurate detail. My hope was that someone may understand or have gone through something similar, and at least have an idea for where I can start.

Any help is always appreciated.

I think you are speaking of WZC or Wireless Zero Config Service. If you want to use the dell utility you cant have WZC on, but you dont need to use the dell utility. The built in windows one should work just dandy.

You may want to go to the dell site and get hte latest drivers, but other than that you should be good.
