Dell Inspiron or Latitude

Well Centrino is not a processor itself, its a Combination of the Pentium M Processor and the 855 Chipset and the Intel Pro wireless solution
that make a Centrino notebook. You can have the Pentium M and the 855 chipset and not the wireless solution but then it does not qualify for
Centrino

Not sure of the differences in the Inspron line and the lattitude except that i belive the lattitude is more intergrated i think and usually smaller form factor.

As for the best proc. thats a loaded question as far as I am concerned it's the Pentium M so far.

The D600 is built better than the 600m. It supposedly has more magnesium alloy in it than the 600m which has more plastic. Take a look at the pictures below showing that the D600 has a reinforced screen housing versus the non-reinforced 600m. The screen flex that causes pixel-distortion in the 600m seems to be prevented by this reinforcement.

The 64MB ATI Radeon 9000 is not available in the D600, only the 32MB version. The D600 has a trackpoint and a trackpad instead of just a trackpad like the 600m. The D600 comes in a business-oriented grey and black design versus the grey and blue 600m. The D600 has different status lights, volume controls, and a different looking powerbutton than the 600m. You cannot add color covers to the D600. The round standard Dell logo if featured on the lid of the D600 versus the new aviator Dell logo on the 600m.

Hope this helps!

I have a d500. Difference between that and a d600 is no track stick, no smart card, no gigabit ethernet. And it has intel integrated extreme graphics. If you play games, then d500 isn't for you. If you don't, then no big difference.
