Dell Inspiron Keyboard

Anyone know and documentation or know-how of how to fix a key that popped out of my Keyboard?

It's an Inspiron e1505, and there are 4 pieces (including the key itself) that came undone when I accidentally dropped a cd-rw spindle onto the keyboard :disgust:. The Key itself is the "pause" key, along the rows of smaller keys on top.

I really don't want to send the darn thing back to Dell because of this, but I'm stumped 😛 I'll try and post pics if requested. Thanks in Advance!

My inspiron 9100's keyboard was repaired using tweezers and a magnifying glass.

You're better off just sending it off to Dell.

if its under warranty they will send another one. they have convinent online chat too. first time this happened with me they sent the wrong keyboard though :/

I'll deffinatley look into them sending me another Keyboard since I am still under warranty. I assumed They'd make me send it back. Thanks for the info guys!

Just chatted with Dell Tech Support. Literally all I had to do was tell them which key broke, and they said they'll send me a new keyboard. Not too shabby. Thanks for the tip Jejunum 🙂

Update: I came home from class the next day and I already had received the package. Replaced the thing in 10 minutes. Just thought I'd share that with those who bad-mouth Dell support. I've had nothing but great experiences with them. 😎
