Which among the Dell Inspiron 8500 and the 5150 is the better option, when only pure gaming performance is concerned?
The price is almost the same.

Inspiron 8500 specs:
2.60 GHz Mobile Pentium® 4 Processor
512MB,DDR,266MHz
64MB DDR NVIDIA® GeForce? 4 4200 Go AGP 4X Graphics

Inspiron 5150 Specs:
Mobile Intel® Pentium® 4 processor,3.06GHz
512MB,333MHz
64MB DDR NVIDIA® GeForce? FX Go5200 AGP 4x Graphics

If the 5150 will be superior, by what margin?
Thanks in advance.

Rogue is right - the FX 5200 is a pretty weak card. It has only one advantage over the GF4 4200 - DX9 support, but even that might not be much of an advantage seeing as the FX line does poorly in DX9 games.

Wont the 333mhz DDR RAM give the 5150 a performance advantage?

Also .. any idea by when will Dell/IBM/Compaq/Toshiba will release up with a laptop with 800MHz Front Side Bus Speed?
What about a better video card?? ... like ATI mobility Radeon 9600 Pro w/ 128MB!! :p:)

Yes, but if you play 3D games, I think a better GPU will help more. The faster FSB will help in streaming applications like video editing.
