Dell Inspiron 8500 Ram?

I just bought this Dell. I want to atleast add a stick of 512 from a good manufacturer (Kingston, Crucial, Mushkin).

What specific ram and model numbers do you suggest I get and where should I get them from?

512mb sticks are expensive. around $130ish.
at crucial.com for my notebook it was $126.99
at mushkin.com it's $149
and at kingston it's $165

if you go to the hot deals forum there's a thread somewhere about $25 coupon on 512mb DDR sticks. i got mine from crucial.com and ended up paying $108 due to tax. i've never tried mushkin ram. i'd like to someday but not now. used kingston on my desktop and didn't like it. crucial is usually very good ram. don't get it from dell.com it's like $200 for a 512mb stick.
your laptop should be using the same ram as mine.

Thanks for the links, Lord Evermore! 🙂

So which to get, crucial or kingston? Anytime ive had problems with kingston, they replaced it immedietly with no hassel, so the CS is great.

i got the crucial ram because it was cheaper and free 2nd shipping. i'm not a big fan of kingston, but if you like them you should get what you believe is the better deal.
