Dell Inspiron 8200 or powernotebooks.com Sager Ultra? (need advice)

Hey everyone, I'm in the market for a "desktop replacement" laptop. My budget is right around $2,300.

The main uses for the lappy are going to be watching DVDs/Divx, listening to music, and playing games during slow times at work (I work as a night systems admin).
I'll also probably mess around with website design, so will also be using photoshop and dreamweaver to some extent.

I've been looking at the Dell Insprion 8200 for a really long time and seem to like everything it has to offer......however, I have also been eyeing the Sager - ULtra (with custom options) found here Link at www.powernotebooks.com. Pictures

I realize that both laptops are pretty big with the Sager weighing in at an enormous 11-12 pounds fully loaded. The weight is not a concern at all to me. 80% of the time I will be using it at a desk anyway. And I can handle lugging it around whereever else because I'm going to get a nice Targus Laptop Backpack.

I also realize that the Sager uses a "desktop" processor instead of a "mobile" P4. Again, this probably won't effect me to much because the lappy will be plugged in %90 of the time so I won't be real concerned about the battery life.

So, those issues aside, when I configure both the Dell and Sager systems I get a much more powerful system with the Sager for the same amount of money. Things, like a 2.4gh P4 compared to a 1.7 with the Dell. Twice as much ram (512). A little bit bigger screen. An included mp3 player. A cooler case design with DJ LCD and buttons on the front. The only thing where the Dell outshines the Sager is the Video Card with the Dell having the GeForce4 and the Sager a ATI Radeon 7500. I know if I wait a little while Dell will be offering the Mobile ATI Radeon 9000 but I'm sure it will just add to it's price. Plus, the Sager lets you install your own operating system. I also see that there is a differene in the two screens. The Dell I would get with the UXGA Ultra Sharp, but the Sager is a SXGA. How much of a diffence do you think that would make. A primary concern is that the screen look good for DVDs, etc.

I know dell has great service and a great warranty (depending on which one you choose) but I keep hearing great things about powernotebooks.com. They are the highest rated company at resellerratings.com Rating and have a perfect 10 with over 309 reviewers. Reading thru some of them they seem to have OUTSTANDING SERVICE.

Once again, I DO REALIZE the Sager is HUGE for a laptop.

So which would you guys choose? Does anyone have a notebook from powernotebooks.com, and could you share your experience.

Thanks for your help, I know this is a bit long

I would go with the Dell laptop. A few years down the line you will probably be able to get parts (extra battery, modular bay drives) for the Dell. I'm not so sure about the Sager.

I bought an oem laptop a couple years ago and I can't find a extra battery for it.

Thank you for considering the Sager ULTRA at PowerNotebooks.com. Now, understand that I am a bit biased. I own PowerNotebooks.com.

Sager has been in business since before Michael Dell got out of college, so the idea that DELL would have parts down the road when Sager would not is just not sound logic, and it certainly is not true.

Feature for feature, DELL does not have anything to offer that will equal the Sager NP8880 ULTRA. Not at any price.

If you want some real advice, just read the customer reviews at ResellerRatings.com, then read the reviews for DELL at the same site. PowerNotebooks.com offers unequalled Customer Service, and more computer for less money...but hey, you decide what is best for you.

I would go with Dell and the reason is because Dell is great with their customer service and also the driver updates is good.

I am not sure about powernotebooks cause I never research about the company but I did research on Dell about the driver updates and they always have updates.
