Hi,
I had to upgrade my card Dell inspiron 8200 laptop card to a GeForce440 Go a couple of years back when dell put in the wrong card, so I know you can actually unpgrade the card.
The trouble is dont think dell actually sell graphics cards for their notebooks!

Anyone know anyone who does?

Dell does sell the laptop cards but not in their regular pathway. They sell them as replacement for repairs only. I thought the same thing with my old Dell. But check Ebay, there were alot of cards on there from people pulling systems apart or repair shops.

Video cards for laptops are specific to each model line usually and made by the manufacturer so you will have to get the correct model for your model of Dell.

Hope that helps

Thanks for that. I've emailed dell about thats (although they're not great for replying).
Also checked out e-bay.

Anyone know of a retail outfit thats sells notebook graphics cards?
I know theres not a big market since they are often part of the board or at least very specific to the notebook...but alot of notebooks allow you to update the card these days....there must be somone selling notebook cards retail?
