Just bought a dell inspiron 8100 but found some problems
1. When I access the internet, every time I click a link in a webpage or change the website address, the computer will read the floppy driver once, sould like "kerr". What is the problem? No anti-virus software installed.

2. In the max resolution 1600x1280, the LCD is fine and no any problem. But when I tried to lower the resolustion, there was a 3 inch long, 1 inch wide stripe in the LCD. After I changed back to the max resolution, it disappeared. I thought the LCD is no problem, maybe the vedeo driver need update. Am I correct.

By the way, it is the second inspiron 8100 I got. The first one has the same problem and had been returned. But the second one still has those problems. I just wonder if all of the inspiron 8100 have the same problem.

Any suggestion? thx a lot.

Don't LCD's have native resoultion, I'm not knowlegable on LCD's, we have them here at work and when I changed the res. I would lose video.

Free bump too.

Yup, LCD's have a native resolution. Usually 1024x768. They will not run correctly at any other resolution. Is that the Inspiron with the 15" monitor? The native resolution may be higher. Check with Dell.
