Dell Inspiron 700m or Inspiron 6000

My roommate finally ordered either Dell Inspiron 700m or Inspiron 6000 (I don't remember which one he has ordered last Thursday). I hope it is the right choice for him as I helped him ordering online. Like I said on previous post he doesn't play games he uses instant messenger ALOT and sometimes surfing websites of special interests.

if he likes instant messagins i hope he got the 6000....typing on the 700m isn't as friendly due to the smaller keyboard. Also websites are a little wierd if he runs any resolution than the native 1280x800 on the 700m...thus 6000 is nicer if u need a bigger screen and type/read a bunch...700m is better if u need something ultra portable and can just do quick stuff or watch movies on

he asked why can't Dell sells at the store so he could test drive on Dell laptops before he can order it?

Dell prefers to build it after you pay for it. plus it helps keep down on costly inventory. to me it makes more sense because i've seen inventory stockpile in places, but I also see how it can hurt if there's no sales going on inside stores like futureshop and such.
