Dell Inspiron 600m

I have done some quick google searches regarding this, but couldn't find any info for this specific computer. My friends Dell laptop's fan is constantly running. Some sites say this could be due to dust clogging up the inards of the computer which will make the fan not be as effective at keeping the CPU cool. So they say to clean it out with some compressed air.

Now my qustions is do I just spray the compressed air into the fan grill? or do I open up the Laptop. I would feel uneasy opening up the laptop. As I am not to savvy with laptops.

Any recomendations?

Thanks
