I'm working on a Dell Inspiron 531 with a OEM Asus M2N61-AX Motherboard. At least it's my understanding that the M2N61-AX is an Asus.

When it boots it just comes up to the Dell screen and hangs and doesn't bootup the bios, so it seems like the bios is hosed, so I'm not even sure how I'd be able to flash it if it won't at least boot the bios so you could flash off a floppy. Unless anyone has any ideas?

Also this is the only bios I could find but it's an exe to run on the desktop, not sure if there is one around anywhere for booting off a floppy.

Also I've removed the battery and tried clearing the CMOS, but not having any luck. But the cmos jumpers has 6 pins and there are two jumper pin covers, covering pins, 1,2,3,4.

Here's the idea on the Cmos jumpers below:

The top 4 pins are coverd. Do I still keep the middle pins 3 and 4 covered along with 5, 6, or just cover only 5,6?

Any suggestions would be greatly helpful.

THANKS

Ok I got it, I took the battery out and covered pins 3,4,5,6 for around 30 seconds and it booted, but gives me some beeps now and said cmos battery failed, so looks like just need a new battery is all.

THANKS
