My notebook won't turn on all of the sudden.No lights,no nothing.I bought it back in 2003,is it time to get a new one?

There isn't much more to say...it simply won't turn on.No noise or lights when I hit the power button.I tried pressing it down for a few seconds but nothing.Nothing on the screen.

Is it plugged in? Is it the original battery?

Laptop is plugged in to the wall but I've tried it without the AC adapter and just the battery itself...nothing.
