Hey all. I have a dell inspiron 5100 laptop that will not boot. I got a new battery and it worked on the charge that i had that came with the battery. I tried another AC Adaptor and it that did not work. When I plug in my new AC Adaptor the lights in the front flash on and then off really quick but it still will not boot. It is a targus adaptor and the light on it stays on. What could cause this? Let me know if you can help. Thanks, Tom.

un-properly seated or missing memory...

Check that first. When I messed up the installation on my i6000, the power, hdd and charging lights would flash a few times and then turn off. Took me three or four tries to seat the memory before i learned how to do it properly.
