Thanks for the props, the site is my senior project, the deal is not as hot as the 8600, but for this week it pretty good.
Soybomb, your blog site is a good read.

Hey, does anyone know of any retailer or anyone willing to sell a brand new / "like new":
Dell Inspirion 300m Battery,
d/bay Combo or
DVD Burner Drive

Also, I have a mobile HD 2.5" combo [USB 2.0/Firewire] drive that I need to hook up to this machine. However, when the 300m is undocked, it lacks the PS/2 port which I use to power [bus-power] the drive. I'm thinking of using a PCMCIA PC Card USB/Firewire card to hookup the drive, but I think even the PCMCIA needs the PS/2 port for extra power. Please help! Thanks!

and RASPUTINJ, you ROCK... I always check your site and slickdeals.net for the latest deals out there. ROCK ON!

I bought the 300m with a mediabase. When the 300m is undocked, it lacks a PS/2 port which i need to power my bus-powered usb/firewire devices such as external hds and dvd-burner. I wonder how much power the d/bay port provides and how I can draw power from that port.

I think the cheapest route for you would be to buy a new enclosure for your extenal peripherals. One with external power of course.

I bought these external peripheral enclosures so that I could use bus-power and would minimize the need for carrying extra power AC cables as well as finding an extra AC power socket.
