Dell Inspiron 2500 and upgrade possibilities????

I have a Dell Inspiron 2500 with a Celeron 800 and 128 pc100. I have heard from some sources that I can upgrade to 1ghz with 512 and from other sources that I can only upgrade to 800mhz and 512. Which is it? I have seen 2500 series dells with 1ghz processors on ebay but I am unsure if the mobo's are the same. Unfortunately I got this laptop used and dont have the manuals. I also called tech support but they werent very helpful. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Even if you could upgrade to 1ghz, I don't think that the cost would be worth the tiny performance increase.

hmm, the laptop was free and I can get the processor for around 80 bucks. Still not worth it you think?

nope, I'd max out the ram and leave it at that.
