Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays to All,

I bought a Dell Inspiron 1501 for a friend from Dell with my work discount.
Works great except one problem and pretty sure it is not the laptop:
Setup the laptop at my house, I have a Linksys WRT54GL wireless router which I have two wireless HP laptops that connect to it without any problems.
The Dell 1501 connects to my router without any problems too. But when I bring it to my friends house, the Dell does not see the Linksys WRT54G router. Well I did see it come up a couple of times but was not their long enough to connect.
So I bring the Dell 1501 and the Linksys WRT54G to my house and it works fine. Infact the Dell sees my router and the neighbor?s router too.

Bring it back to my friends house and it does not work. But we can connect using a cat-5 cable to the router from the Dell.

Could a strong interference cause this to happen?
On Tuesday I am going back over to her house with my HP laptop and see if it can see her router.
In the meantime would anyone here have see this probem or have a sugjestion for me.
It would be very appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Hi JackMDS,
Thanks for the reply but his router and the laptop do connect when both pices of hardware are at my house. It's whenI am at his house the two do not connect by wireless method.

If the Wireless does not connect only in a specific location, it means that there is some kind of very noisy 2.4GHz signal that blocks the WIFI signal.

Try to change the Wireless Channel to 1 or 11.

That did it. Channel 1 worked just fine. 11 ,4,5,7 did not and I didn't try the others.
My HP would not connect either until I changed to channel one.
Thanks again.
