Dell Inspiron 15

Anyone have one of these? I have a desktop for heavy lifting but I am in need of a new laptop. I used to stay on top of whats out there and all of the new models from everyone but life got busy and my computer hobby got put on the back burner and my knowledge of what's
what is somewhat outdated. I order business machines for clients but that's about it.

What I am wondering is if anyone has heard of any problems with the inspiron 15? Saw one at the store today on sale for $298 including the following:

Core i3 (Not a gimped ULV model) something like 2.6ghz.
6gb RAM
Windows 8.1
500gb HDD.

My laptop usage doesn't demand a lot but this didn't seem like a bad deal.

Any thoughts are appreciated.

The general build quality of the Dell Inspiron line has gone down over the past years several. Dell designs them as cheaply as possible these days to compete in the consumer laptop arena. I got burned several years ago with the M5010 model. If you decide to get an Inspiron be sure to check older reviews on the exact model you are looking at.

I got one of those (same specs, too, I think) for my aunt last year. It's a nice system for the dirt-cheap price. The plastic's texture is nice and the overall appearance helps it look and feel more expensive than the $300ish we paid for it. Surprisingly light on the bloatware (though I nuked and clean-installed anyway). Screen left a lot to be desired, but that was expected. Hard drive was frustratingly slow, but I've since replaced it with a SSD.

I almost got one for myself as a tertiary guinea pig test system.

I just bought this laptop but with a non-touch screen and windows 7 rather then windows 8. I like it so far but as one poster said it is not made for hard use as i get the feeling it will break because it is quite thin and is all plastic. That said the booting speed is very fast and the look of the laptop is sleek.
