Can anybody tell me what is the max processor I could install in this laptop? I think it is a P4 Mobile 2.8 533

I believe the chipset is a Intel 845 chipset (Imbedded)

Also , where I can buy a P4 Mobile 2.8?

Dont know about the max bro... but I doubt that the Inspiron 1100 will take a Pentium 4 Mobile chip...

It used to ship with Desktop P4's as far as I remember.

So it takes a P4 478Pin 400FSB Proc?

 
Socket size of 478 sounds right, but I am not sure about the bus. My Toshiba laptop I use to own had an 800MHz FSB with a 2.8GHz HT desktop CPU.

If you are upgrading, pop open the laptop to find out for sure, since you will have to open it up eventually anyways.
