not that spectacular considering that Compaq and Toshiba have similiar deals.

Yeah, but some people perfer Dell over Compaq.

Such as me :D Toshiba's keyboard / pointer device layout have always been uncomfortable to me, and Compaqs have given me more reliability issues in the past than Dell.

The official Inspiron Sweet Spot ($674) has returned! Rejoice and make merry :p

My grandfather has that lappy and it is slow as dirt. Those Celeron's really blow. Even if they are cheap.

What do you mean? There is no configuring, it's $674 stock!

1) Go to Dell.com
2) Click Small Business
3) Click Notebooks
4) Scroll to the middle, click on the Dell Inspiron 1000 for $674
5) On the far left click the $674 price

Or just click here.

By the time you read this post, this deal may be dead. It is currently working as of right now.

I just ordered a few laptops 30 minutes ago, worked just fine.

Correct, Dell SB charges sales tax in all USA states (except for NH and OR I think).

Sorry, I suppose I should have specified the price was for the default config and that the price did not include tax.
