My wife has a Dell Inspirion 4000 (700 MHz PIII I believe). The computer has two PCcards slots on it. We want to hook up a wireless network at home. Costco (and anothers) are advertising at D-Link Airflow extreme G (I think) for about $100 including the PCcard. My question is, will this card work on an older laptop like this one. This seems like a decent deal but if the card won't work I'd rather not go through the hassles of buying it then trying to return it.

Operating system is ME not sure what the memory on the laptop is.

Thanks in advance

I networked an Inspiron 5000 and a 3800 (using SMC cards and Win2k) w/o any difficulty, though I will never, ever buy a Dell again (but that's a different story). As ojai00 mentioned, be sure you have drivers. Most setups will have them, but check the website to be sure. FWIW.
