Dell Inspirion 2500, keyboard does not work for some reason

The keyboard doesnt work at all. ive restarted my computer, a couple of times now and still nothing. the keyboard was working fine this weekend. then all of a sudden today, it doesnt work at all. does anybody, know what the hell is going on? thanks for the help

also the touchpad doesnt work either.
 
Seems like I've heard of this before. I'm using and inspiron 3500. Try a hard reset. Somewhere on the case is a tiny reset hole. You have to stick a paper clip inside to hit the button.
