Saw this deal at abbleshoppers.com....

Dell Home has 20% on all dell brand monitors, but when I check out their website, all monitors under dell system upgrade also had 20% off.....thought some of you might be interesting in this...

EDIT: Sorry for the misunderstanding, the 20%off only apply to all CRT monitors and dell brand LCD, non dell LCDs didn't qualify for it....

I only see Dell monitors (at least LCD monitors) under Dell System Upgrade. I didn't check CRT's though.

ALL CRT monitors are 20% off; only Dell LCDs are 20% off.

The Dell 19" LCD is just a hair over $700; but you can stack a $30 off $300 onto the 20% to knock it down to around $680!

Just replying to recommend the Dell 2000FP 20" LCD monitor, which I've been using for almost a year now. Not only is this monitor significantly cheaper than any other 1600x1200 resolution 20" LCD monitor I've seen, it's a great for gaming, and I've been recommending it since the day I got it.

One feature of this monitor that nobody seems to mention, and is lacking in every other 20" LCD (and most LCD monitors, for that matter), is the support for picture-in-picture video in a window at any position on the screen for either of the extra video (composite or s-video) inputs. With this you can watch TV on your monitor while you are websurfing, playing a slow-moving game, etc.

The monitor is 20% off at Dell right now, where they advertise it at $1,119.20.

Without question -- without question -- CRT's are the way to go in regards to gaming.

Yes, LCD's are getting better, but they aren't there yet in terms of being able to refresh quick enough to be able to keep up w/ games.

If you play a lot of games -- get a CRT.

What is this $30 off $300 coupon? I can't find it anywhere... could you give us a clue? If it exists, I better cancel. I just ordered this

morning for $619 with a one time use $100 off coupon. If that $30 off stackable is legit, that brings it down to $590 shipped!!... thats

an INSANE deal.....

$30 off $300 is a one-time use e-mail coupon. You can't find it unless a friend is kind enough to give theirs to you.

CRTs don't cause radiation anymore either, at least now they don't. That's why the front part of the monitor is so friggin heavy, it's all lead or other protective material to block radiation.

I would actually recommend the Iiyama 22 inch CRT if you have the desk space but it's not really worth it since you can get the 513 model for cheaper. The 512 comes with speakers but those suck anyway.

OK, I took the plunge and ordered the Dell UltrSharp 19". A few weeks ago I almost ordered the Sony X82 18" but decided against it since my Sony 19" CRT did not die. Now the popping is happening interemitently so I'm preparing for the worst.

why is that kidding? Dell do not make them, they just oem from Sony, Sharp, Samsung, Planar, etc. and slap on their own casing or sometime just rebrand.
