Oo, new value dells looking pretty slick. Hot IMO, just cause brand new model, and I bet panel is pretty nice, and for budget LCD DVI is basically unneeded.

Try this one as an alternative, I just bought two, NO dead pixels, great monitors all around. Has DVI, and comes with BOTH D-Sub and DVI cables in the box.

sorry - its a color depth issue ... its better to have 8 - but most dont really notice if they just have 6.

A lot of places, like here, say TN, 6 bit panel. It's specs suggest 6 bit TN too.

It is their low-end monitor, it's not going to be an 8 bit with that response time and not even DVI.

I have a Dell E193FP and I really like it. I swap it between my laptop (VGA out) and my G4 Cube. Here's a pic:

The E-series 19" LCD from Dell is not as sharp a picture as the Benq FP91G+. The Benq also made the list in the graphics forum for recommended gaming LCD.

I use the Benq and it's fantastic - crisp and ghosting is not an issue in games like BF2.

My brother-in-law has the Dell and he lusts after my screen.

I actually bought this monitor at 239 and I have to say.. it may be VGA only but its really sharp.. not a problem with gaming/text/anything at all.. no ghosting.
