it randomly restarts for no good reason. does anyone else who has this model experienced random restarts? Do you know how to fix them? is it software.... hardware? power supply? i have no idea what else it could be.

Turn off "Automatic Restart"
Control Panel -> System -> Advanced -> Startup and Recovery -> Settings -> System Failure -> Automatically Restart.
Now instead of restarting you will get a BSOD with an error message that will help find the problem.

yea unfortunately i already did turn that option off..... so it just blue screens everytime. i googled the error message and doesn't really help. i thought it was a driver error, but taking out the network cards that i installed individually on these computers.... it's still restarting. i dunno i give up.
That problem would not surface so soon. It typically takes more than a year to surface. And it's been fixed in all new Dell's anyway.Originally posted by: mechBgon
You might also want to inspect the motherboards for bulging or leaking capacitors. I know some Optiplex GX270's and SX270's have that problem. The tops of the capacitors should be flat like a soup can, not bulging like Canned Food Gone Bad. 😀
