i've been waiting and waiting for a good deal to come through on a dell laptop but nothing.

I need to get a laptop very soon... I'm looking at a 500m or a 600m since i need something light

7 - 8 lbs seems kinda heavy to bring to campus everyday.

anyways... I need to know if I fit the requirement for the e-financing.
I have one credit card... about 500 credit limit left and not much credit history. Would I get approved?? I'm hoping I can charge 500 on the credit card and the rest finance it. If anyone has info on this, please let me know

500 LEFT?
what's your limit?

The 500m is ok. Haven't tried the 600m. You might want to wait a few more weeks... prices on dells are rumored to be dropping soon. Use the school lab until then.

If you're student, you might be able to get into some kind of credit union at your school. At my credit union, they had loans for students for buying PCs, etc.

I believe the interst rate is lot lower than Dells.

can't split payment methods on dell financed orders

dell's interest rate is going to rape you

the credit limit is 800

I guess the best choice for me is to wait until I get the cash then🙁

I just ordered a Dell 600m... went with Dell financing. Their offer was 21.99% financing!

I said @#$# that and went to the bank and got a $5000 line of credit at 7.25%. I also managed
to get a new VISA that pays divedends with a $5k limit and a $5000 dollar overdraft on my chequing
account... They said I could have more, but I didn't want it...

btw, I'm 23 and have had a VISA since I was 18. Always used it every month, but never carried
a balance. Good way to establish good credit rating.

Wait until you get the cash, by then there should be a better deal.

Plus if you have the cash, payoff your cc, pay with your cc ... most cc's offers an extra 1 year of warranty coverage for FREE.

but the problem is my 800 credit limit won't get me a decent laptop
I need something thin and light less than 5 lbs .. something like a 500m or a 600m

when I get the cash, I'll use my debit card and get the laptop. hopefully I get the money soon!! 🙁🙁

do you know if AMEX blue students card has the extra warranty coverage?

i've also been looking at the 600m. does anyone know if you can save yourself the $70 by just ordering Windows XP Home and installing an already owned Pro version? Just wondering if all the dell features and buttons will still work.

Yep, everything still works. Those are seperate programs you have to install after the operating system.
