Dell financing....Good or bad?

No, if you have to finance something like a laptop you shouldn't be buying it in the first place. Dell would really love it if you did finance though because they make a ton more money.

I wouldn't apply for any credit card for a retailer unless I spend $10k there a year.

Anyway, get yourself a credit card with a low rate and use that. Dell financing is in the 18%+ range. If they have a deal to pay it off in a year with no interest, grab that.

I didn't like their rates personally. My business ended up getting a better deal financing through our local bank and taking advantage of Dell's 25 day grace period to get things shipped. I think Dell's interest rate worked out to be something like 17% for a 2 year plan. I wouldn't get anything from Dell for personal use unless I could buy it outright without financing.
