i could of got the 12% but i didn't wanna pay for the 3 year warranty or Virus/Security Package....but the difference isn't too bad
 
You don't have to really.

You could get the 3 yr plan w/o the security thing and it's $143 cheaper. But still qualifies you for the 12% discount.

I really don't need PC training.
 
I did the math, and if you take the 3yrs plan in order to get the 12% discount, you still end up paying more. (I don't think DELL is THAT stupid). So 6% was fine enough for me.

Btw... 1 year of warranty is plenty.

Imagine your laptop after 2 year. Technology changes every 18 months. So.. not worthed to get longer warranty.
 
Don't forget that this coupon is valid for EPP and FSS (faculty, students and staff)... so those who do not qualify under EPP may still qualify as FSS. I thought this might help some, because I certainly know I am not qualified for EPP, but I do qualify as FSS.

Of course, the deal is dead anyway...
 
I was able to get in on the 40% EPP offer even though Dell's online ordering system somehow mysteriously changed my 40% EPP discount into the current 34% offer; after spending lots of time on the phone talking to who knows how many departments, they're gonna credit me back 6% to my DPA after I receive my order...thus effectively restoring my original 40%--actually, I'll wind up getting back 7 more cents than before...LOL!! What makes this sweeter is that the laptop I will be getting has better upgrades than what I originally had specified (34% offer applies to specific configurations--meaning no barebones configs)...but at a lower price than what I would have paid for the same config under the previous/original 40% EPP offer!
