I currently have a dell e521, and i've been noticing it has been runing hot some times. i orderd a zalman 9500A fan and looked at its mount brackets when i just recieved it today. and i dont see how it would be possible to mount this fan on there. is there any fans that i can buy that will fit or am i just stuck with the stock dell fan?

it fits in there, its smaller than the orginal fan that it came with. The problem is on the motherboard, the mounting holes dont look standard, they are are futher spread apart. Therefor i can't screw in the mounting bracket the fan came with. and am stuck with using the org.

ew, heatsink, not just fan. you're only real option is to create a custom front mounting plate or modify the factory mount to work with the zalman for the front of the motherboard and create a custom back plate.

and yes, they should be about 5mm off on each side with the height either very close or correctly matching the standard 775 mounts.
