However it's not all bad for AMD their Mobile computing is set to get better 50% discrete GPU market share

I want to reemphasize your post. This is a lot bigger news than people are giving credit. Maybe in six months some people start to address the ATI merger as a good thing.

Here's a nice companion piece to that story:
AMD RS780 IGP chipset boosts entry-level CPU sales in China

"AMD's recent launched RS780 IGP chipset is enjoying strong demand in the China market and has boosted the demand for the company's entry-level CPUs, according to channel vendors in China.

AMD's entry-level CPU market share in China was between 40% to 50% before the launch of RS780 motherboards. But since the launch, sales have jumped to 60%-70%, noted the sources.

The strong sales can be attributed to the RS780's multimedia capabilities. AMD's decision to include its UVD engine as part of the chipset allows systems to playback DVDs and even high-definition video without the need for a powerful CPU."

Dell is still selling AMD based systems.

Granted, they still have AMD based systems, but you have to admit they cut way back for typical home users. I looked around a bit and the system you linked (Inspiron 531) is the only one I could find in the "Home and Home Office" section. And even then, when you first go into the home section, the processor is not listed on the "narrow results" tab so they're practically hiding it.
