Dell Does It Again! No Axim

For the third straight week Dell has offered a low price deal on an Item and then cancelled all of the orders. While I agree that these prices are too low to be reasonable, the fact is they keep having these problems and need some sort of verfication system before it is posted. The thing about this deal was it was up for over 12 hours. Not only did it last that long, but about 8 hours into it, they removed it....only to add it back on again a few hours later.

Aw Well...

I had the same problems when I ordered a laptop

When I contacted them because the deal in the ad wasn't the same thing on their website (the deal in the paper ad was cheaper then the supposed same deal on their website). they promised to call me back and to honour the cheap deal. Never heard of them again

You knew it was a price mistake. You took a gamble for getting it, or maybe even a good coupon. You lost. If it bothers you so much don't try to purcahse obvious price mistakes in the future.

What bothers me is that they placed the mistake online, removed it, and then placed it again. How many thousands of Axims were ordered during this time? How many people checked out the specs of a product they otherwise would not have considered. They are doing this on purpose...once or twice is acceptable, but the amount of times Dell has had errors recently is extremely suspicious.

All I know is people will start to doubt dell more because theyre supposed to be a "technology" company yet they cant manage their website properly.

Actually, if they removed the item and put it back up with the exact same price, it does not look like a price mistake. If they had fixed the price before putting it back up, then yes.

I had the same thing on a laptop deal (see post above)

<-buys newspaper and reads Dell Deal
<-tried to buy online (with the code they show in the ad)
<-code shows laptop but with a different price and without the extra ram, dvd combo etc...
<-call Dell
<-Dell promises to call you back and honour the deal as shown in the newspaper ad
<-never hear from Dell again

3 weeks later they had a new laptop deal in the same newspaper and the same happens again. You look it up on their website and bam, you find a laptop WITHOUT the added ram etc... for 100 euros more.

it seems to me that they just want to attract visitors to their site

It's called bait and switch. Contact their legal department about it.

Yes, you were perfectly entitled for that 400 dollar item for 70 bucks.

Dude, he's not complaining he didn't get it. It comes down to Dell is screwing up left and right. This is NOT the first Dell price error........try 3rd for this month. Plus like he said before, they pulled it then put it back on. Does that make sense to you? Not to me.

Stop before you're deep throating your foot. They put the same item back up at the same price. Hence, it was NOT a price mistake or they would have put it back up with the correct price.
