Dell DJ

Saw that Dell was selling the 30G DJ for $239 and was thinking about getting one. Are they any good?

I have the older version of them. I got a 15 gig for $179 last year. I like it.

Yes I have one. Just got the DJ 30 on Tuesday. Shipped to my door with a Jam Jacket case for $215. I like it so far, but I'm just getting used to it. If you get one, get new headphones!! The earbuds it comes with are the most uncomfortable pieces of shite EVER.

I have a 5 GB mini DJ, I like it. My only complaint is that the scroller/button isnt exactly intuitive, but after a while you get used to it. Oh, and I dont like the fact that I need software on the pc to load music to it.

I used three coupons. One expired Monday, so you're outta luck there, it was for $75 off. I used the $75 off Dell DJ coupon, a $35 off $300 I got off eBay, and a 10% off for using a Dell Preferred Account. Needed to add a $10 filler item to use the $35 off, but I ended up getting the Jam Jacket because I figured I could actually use it. I'm sure more deals will come along.

I have a Dell 20GB. Bought it from a co-worker for $75 since he upgraded. I like it fine, better than the monster Archos 20GB I was using. I'm using Koss ear plugs and it sounds fine.

Not all that wild about the software though, but it's workable.

I agree on the headphones, put I hate in ear ones in general... well at least the few that I've tried.

My DJ is powerful enough on max volume to drive my HD 280pros very well. I usually have it set to about 18/25 for a nice sound level.

i have the 20GB one and like it a lot

only problem is the "Random" function

if i select all files and put it on "random" every time the first song is one of 5 James Brown songs I have on the player...also there are def. songs I hear a lot more on "random" then other and some which never get played...but this is mainly when i only do all songs, if i randomize playlists its usually ok

You know what's weird? When I put mine on shuffle, the first one it plays is the James Brown stuff too, I'm not kidding. I just tried it after you mentioned this, and sure enough it did it again. Whoever designed the software must like James Brown.
