Apple REALLY needs to drop their prices sometime soon. I love the scroll wheel implementation on the iPod and the iTunes software, but when I see deals like this it gets me thinking about going the DJ/Musicmatch route instead because of the rather large price difference. Plus Dell has a nice accidental damage warranty for $20-$30 to cover klutzy people like me.

btw, Dell has a program called Dell DJ Explorer that is basically a Windows Explorer interface that lets you drag and drop your MP3's. easy.

Apple has no problem selling the iPod at its current prices. In fact Apple sold more iPod the past quarter than they did in the Christmas quarter. That's insane and unheard of.

I guess that Pepsi/iTunes promotion really worked. The iPod is a great piece of hardware, I've got to admit. I just wish it was in my price range for an MP3 player, like the DJs are.

my college bookstore has the ipod 15gb for $269. That's not too much more for the ipod, I know it is 5 gigs less, and has a shorter battery life, but there is something about the ipod that makes me want it more than the dell.
