I am trying to setup my g/f's D600 to her wireless network. She has a Linksys WRT54G router. Her desktop connects fine and the laptop works great when wired in. For some reason when her computer boots I get an error messgae titled "Wireless Configuration":

"Notification dll has not been registered, program will not work correctly."

Her 1350 wireless card detects the network, I enter the correct WPA key and it SAYS it connects correctly. The laptop is receiving the IP 192.168.1.55 and says it's connecting to 192.168.1.1 to get the IP. The problem is the router is setup to be 192.168.2.1 and it's supposed to start assigning IPs at 192.168.2.100 and up. I am at my witt's end. This stupid Dell wlan utility won't let me assign anything; it "automatically" does everything.

I tried to uninstall the dell wireless wizard but it's tied to the dang drivers so when I uninstall the program in an attempt to use Wireless Zero and setup the network through windows the entire card is uninstalled. Do you guys have any ideas?

OH MY GOD I FIXED IT!!!!!!!! I am going to leave the answer here and hopefully google will pick it up to save people days in the future. On the WRT54G there is an "option" under the wireless page where you click on a green icon and it says the router is accepting computers onto the network. I figured to heck with that I know what I'm doing I'll set it up myself....

Aparently this is NOT optional like the help documentation says. What you need to do is boot the wireless computer and disable the wireless. Click the green button on the WRT54G to allow computers to connect. THEN try to connect the wireless computer and it will be accepted onto the network.

Why in the world it gives you a bogus IP and blocks you if you configure the computer yourself I don't know but this is the only way to get it done...
