Dell D1226H monitor not detected

I shut down my computer this morning and when I turned it on, my Dell 19" D1226H monitor isn't being detected by PnP for some reason. It works fine, but I cannot change to a refresh rate above 60hz. I have tried reinstalling Ati drivers (i have a 9800 pro) but to no avail. I've looked everywhere for a driver for my monitor but can't find one. Is there some sort of generic driver that would give me refresh rate options?! what to do?!

Windows XP has the driver built in.

Here's how to reinstall it.

1. Right click mouse, Properties, Settings, Advanced, Monitor, then Properties.
2. Click Driver, then Update Driver.
3. Choose - install from a list or specific location (advanced), then Next.
4. Choose - Don't search. I will choose driver to install, next.
5. Uncheck - show compatible hardware.
6. Under manufacturer choose Dell Computer Corp, and Model Dell D1226H, then next.
7. At this point the driver should be installed. Click Finish.
8. Go back to Monitor and under monitor settings see if you can select Screen refresh rate at 85 Hertz.

This should work. Good luck.
