Dell Change of Ownership form

To make a long story short

1. Original owner gives laptop to second owner
2. There is a problem with the laptop a couple months later
3. Original owner is in a place where we he can't be reached easily (don't ask where).

We can get his info but does dell need any other confirmation that would require the original owner's verification?

Thanks. I googled that but not sure if I needed the actual person to validate anything on the phone or through signature because at this point not only with it be hard to reach the orginal owner, the original owner is not in a state of well-being. I'll fill out the form and hopefully that is all that is needed.
