OK, so here goes:
*Disclaimer* The Dell was a gift, so I'm not complaining and neither should you ty. I have built two computers for friends so I'm not imcompetent 😉
I have a Dell Dimension 4600.
P4 2.8 533Mhz FSB
1.5GB RAM (Corsair)
80GB Maxtor IDE
Leadtek 6600gt (AGP)
ThermalTake 420 watt PSU
I use this computer primarily for games, but since I"m in school it gets a decent amount of word processor usage and general internet browsing as well. What I have noticed is that the cooling in this box is rediculous. I monitor temps using RivaTuner and the GPU is usually at 70-80 C under load and the surrounding temps are 40-50 C - -Too hot.
I have the stock Dell cooler in there as well as the PSU fans which ramp up the speed as it gets warmer inside the case. I want to devise some way to help get things a bit cooler in there. I installed a 80MM fan in the case door which pulls air outward, perhaps pushing air in would be better?
Does anyone have any ideas as to how I could at least get the GPU cooler? I was thinking that maybe I could put another fan in the side, at the same level as the G-card...
Suggestions are welcome.
Thanks.
