Dell cancels OLED monitor. Now what do we do?

Yeah I know there's a thread about the monitor when it was demoed. But it's kind of old from last year in April-May:

But I'm segueing it into what are we supposed to do now for a decent monitor for gaming? Said in a sarcastic manner because what I mean by that question is we're stuck in the same old crud. Like contrast vs speed and viewing angle with VA vs IPS/PLS panels. Or whether to just get the LG OLED TV.

And on and on with other arguments like the new Asus 144 hz monitor is the way to go. I'm not sure about the colors on that monitor. But you see there I go with my two cents and the back and forth continues for god knows how long at this point. But none of those monitors or TVs would've compared to the Dell UP3017Q except for the size could be too small compared to the 40"+ that some gamers prefer. And assuming Dell worked out the color problems or whatever it was.

Edit: Ok cost is a factor not in its favor but it still would've shined brightly. Oh well.

At $5k, it makes no difference if this was released or not released from my point of view regarding ownership. But hopefully they learned from this and will be able to progress technology.

Seems like the best we can hope for is when new LG OLED manufacturing plant opens in 2018, *maybe* they'll have the capacity to make monitor panels at some point after that. That's also the year they would likely debut high frame rate TVs as well. Using one of the TVs now... 55", 60hz, unacceptable input lag for a monitor...
