Ugly? weird? stylish?

what?

they have a big kind of gap in the front and a very large fan pulling air in. no fan in back, just grill.

it starts quieter than most of the atx cases with pentium 4's in it.

no ps2 connectors anymore, usb only.

interesting design. they have one that comes in a painted white color that looks pretty bad.

They're pretty nice. We have several of the minitower GX620's and a bunch of the SFF GX520s. They're quieter then the GX280s that they replaced, which is pretty good since some of them have pentium ds.

I just fixed one of these. It was very interesting to see that there was no PS/2 ports lol.

I just got a 9150 with BTX. This thing is so quiet I can hear the Hard Drives going all the time. Everything appears to be running very cool. The heat pipes and gigantic heat sink is very impressive as well.

I have build all my own systems before but I have to say, this is pretty impressive for air cooled.

dell also has passively cooled 6800 ultras in some of their btx machines.

i've seen and heard the 9100 series btx case and it is very quiet. the weird gap is so that they dont need a air vent grill in front.

i have both the chenbro and coolermaster microbtx cases (the coolermaster is quite a bit better build wise) but these cases suck air directly from the front causing the case to build up a lot of dust on the front mesh. but it can be easily wiped off.

the weird depth design of the dell though, makes their cases about 4 inches deeper which isnt exactly good. then again fitting longerish cards into a btx case is somewhat tough as a 6800 non ultra will be somehwat cramped next to the btx cooler. but it will fit. and the back flow from the cpu cooler does help cool the vid card as well.

Best case is usually between the Coolermast Stack, Antec P180, and a couple of the Lian-lis. I've heard of some people that like the TT armor, but I haven't heard of much clamor for the Tsunami.

i'd say the coolermaster stacker 830 looks nice. plus you have the added benefit of btx compatibility in the future.

On the gateway btx case i have, it has a big 120mm fan sucking air in the front and a 120mm fan blowing it out of the back. I'm actually thinking about either upgrading the fans with http://www.compusa.com/products/product_info.asp?product_code=318491&pfp=SEARCH

or just adding this water cooling kit

what do you guys think about the water cooling kit?

the gateway case actually cools pretty well with the 2 120mm fans. they sell machines with 6800Ultras with passive cooling with that exact setup. hardocp reviewd a few of those.

i've worked with the 9150 case as well, and removing the side panel is really easy. i think its better than the older 8200 series design where the case sort of split in half sice that was harder to remove.

the funny "hole" in the 9150 i think is so that they dont have to put a vent right on front. that way no one sees the dust.

no havent seen it.

i dont think ti should be a big difference , as far as i know the 7800gtx actually puts out less heat than a 6800 ultra. and if you can passively cool a 6800 ultra, then it would likely be possible in a 7800 gtx as well.
