Is there any way to configure the Dimension 440 w/o the Double Memory so you can get the $100 rebate ? Makes it a better deal at $399 after rebate.

This is what confuses me. How do you get that $100 off or is it simply a $100 coupon or can you get both off ($200)?

I Think you have to start HERE to get the INSTANT $100 off -- and the configuration does not allow you to remove the double memory, so you are in effect paying $100 for 128MB of PC2100 DDR-SDRAM :(

That bites, I was hoping to eBay the 128MB DDR SDRAM (how much do you think I could get for it) then buy 2x256 from Crucial.com

Argh!

Are you sure?

They may mean it's 1 128MB DIMM but there are 2 available slots. 2x64 sucks even more!

I just ordered 2 over the phone with Dell Small Business -- total delivered price for 2 systems was $1175 with 128 MB RAM to qualify for the rebate. I upgraded to 64MB Mx400 Video and 20GB ata100 HD, no modem. and 1.7Ghz Processor instead of 1.6. After rebate cost will be $487.50 tax and all for each computer. Ye Ha ! That is better than the dang deal I got on the 1.6 :(My sister and graduating niece will be very happy). YMMV, but calling worked -- he tried to get me to take the 256 w/o rebate, but finally I told him I could add 256 MORE for $75 instead of this 128MB fore $100 -- He said OK and did the deal with theh extra $100 off from the e-mail and the rebate to follow !

i wonder if Dell P4 1.x Ghz can beat a home assembled Duron 1G . Indeed this is great deal, but it'll be better to o/c a P4 DDR setup to fully expose the potential of P4 CPU.
