Dell Axim X50v nice?

Was offered one with extra battery and a couple SD card for $160 shipped. I am wanting one for different uses but mainly for GPS.

Are they nice PDA's?

I have one and I really like it. I also use it as a GPS and while it's not as sleek and integrated-looking as standalone GPS devices, it works just fine for me. I've traveled across the US and back with this thing.

I use the GlobalSat BT-338 receiver and iGuidance 3.0.

I was going to get one, but they don't make them anymore. So getting a replacement via warranty or even getting it repaired might be difficult. I bought a iPAQ 2795b, and I hate it. I should have bought a Palm.

Have one - like it.
Don't use it as PDA anymore since I have a CrackBerry.
Use it as a GPS still and it works fine that way. Total use is like once every 2-3 months.

I had one with the GPS adapter and it was awesome.

Left it in the car in Feb though and now it wont turn on

I don't think you really would have liked the Palm much more. The OS hasn't changed much since 1996, so they're pretty slow & crash happy as a result. The whole PDA market is pretty much dead these days anyhow. It's all about Smartphones these days.

They are VERY nice. I had one before I upgraded to an iPhone/Garmin Nuvi GPS. The Axim series is my favorite PDA series ever. Tons of apps, great community over at AximSite.com, lots of inexpensive aftermarket accessories. Make sure you get a screen protector and some spare stylus pens.

I just bought a used x51v and I love it. Using it with a Holux GPSlim 236 and iGuidance 4.0, works like a charm.
