What's the point of upgrading your mobo without upgrading processor?
last time I upgraded my mobo, I got a 15-20% speed boost in video encoding, after I resold my old mobo, it ended up costing me all of $15. If I upgraded my proc and not my mobo, I'd have had to spend nearly $150 more for the same kind of performance increase.

Which mobos?
went from an msi kt4vl to a shuttle an41

As far as their service - it depends on what level you are talking.
Home and SOHO users - fall into the generic globale queue and get ok phone service but good replacement support.
Small Bussiness - get good phone service and good replacement support.
Medium , large ,& goverment - get awesome phone support and awesome replacement

so i must say i am very sorry then and that yes as much as i would hate to say and cringe at the thought dell does make a good product, it would seem my biggest issue is with the people who have not a clue when they buy, as it is with anything, in the sense of computing ignorance is not bliss, maybe you guys who work at dell could try to teach some of your customers, on what they have bought. for that would set dell apart from the rest.

Never had a problem with them at all. I recommend Dell to everyone I know and have never had anyone that has had any out of ordinary problems.

From a company standpoint, they're great. They've managed to make themselves the standard name that every Joe Schmoe thinks of when he decides he wants a new computer.

I'm a big fan of the products I've used of theirs, too. I own a Dell DJ that works great and (IMO) is far sexier than an iPod due to the metal/black scheme, and the 2001FP that I'm looking at right now is a sexy, sexy monitor.

Fixed quote... :D

My last Dell had the following replaced over the course of two years:

3 Mobos
3 CPUs
2 PSUs
2 HDs
2 Rambus modules

Thats all i can remeber for now, but have a feeling that im forgetting something. However, if my mother/sister/friend wanted a new computer would i build one or tell them to buy a Dell--the latter.

You're getting really annoying newb. Everything for me has lasted for a long time on my dell, so your point is moot.

if you want to sell computers but people want to buy dells, then become a dell reseller. One of my friends builds/fixes computers and he is a dell reseller and makes good money of reselling them.

I think you're stupid. Isn't that the entire point of buying a dell? The users aren't educated enough to build themselves, or diagnose the computers themselves.
