Dell Adamo Delivery Issues

Dell stinks! On June 26th I ordered a new Dell Adamo laptop direct from Dell. The expected ship date was supposed to be July 6th. When they confirmed the order the date had moved to July 7th. I went for two day shipping so I was expecting to receive it on July 9th. On July 8th I received an email stating that the laptop was delayed and was expected to be delivered on July 16th. On July 15th (yesterday) I received another email from Dell stating that the laptop was now delayed until the 22nd. This by the way is for a laptop with no options. You can't change memory or CPU or anything else. It's one way or no way. I cancelled my order. I needed the box for a trip I am making on Monday the 19th plus sometimes you have to send a message that this kind of treatment will not be tolerated. I have two other Dell laptops so I will just use one of them instead. The two I have were not even close to delivered on the promise date either. They make a decent product but I can't stand the BS one must put up with to obtain one. D:

Honestly, I've never EVER had a problem with Dell shipping. 9 outta 10 times I get the stuff LONG before their projected delivery date(s). This is in regards to ordering tons and tons of workstations, servers, notebooks, replacement parts etc etc over the years.

maybe its the Adamo, I have always had good dealing with Dell shipping. only time I had anything delayed is when the Zino came out and they had it on special for $199 with a $50 gift card also. They got WAY more than they expected. Other than that one time, everything has always been when they said or sooner.

Well I have had issues with all three of the laptops I have ordered from them.

Here is the latest. I just received an email from Dell telling me that the laptop shipped today. This was after I cancelled the order and now I will be away on Tuesday when the laptop is expected to be delivered. The original reason I wanted it was specifically for this trip and now it will get here after I am gone. How do they ship something AFTER the order has been cancelled? Dell stinks!

UPS? Call them with the tracking # and refuse the package now over the phone....you can. It will get turned around at its next scan. 1800-pick-ups.

Good suggestion. The problem is that those idiots at Dell sent me the email about the laptop shipping but did not include a tracking number. The order page on thenweb site is no help either. It says no information is available. This is how they keep you from refusing the order during shipping. Truth be told if it really is on the way I kind of want it. I guess the trick to getting it is to cancel the order. It ships pretty quickly then.
